Short version: Wakebird does not collect any data. Everything it knows stays on your Mac.

What Wakebird collects

Nothing. Wakebird has no account, no analytics, no ads and no tracking, and it does not send anything about you or your Mac to us or to anyone else.

Your settings (timers, triggers, chosen folders) are stored only on your Mac.

Wi-Fi name

If you create a Wi-Fi trigger, Wakebird reads the name of the network you are connected to, to know whether the trigger applies. macOS only shares the network name with apps that have Location permission, so Wakebird asks for it. It does not use your location for anything else.

Without a Wi-Fi trigger, Wakebird does not need Location permission.

Agent hooks

Wakebird writes hook entries into an agent's config file (for example ~/.claude/settings.json) only after you pick that agent's folder in a standard macOS folder window. Before changing an existing file it keeps a backup copy next to it.

The hooks run open -g wakebird://agent… on your Mac. That message contains only which agent it is, what happened (started, waiting, finished) and a session number. It never leaves your Mac.

Activity detection

If you turn on activity detection (off by default), Wakebird checks which agent apps are open, how busy the CPU and network are, and whether files change in project folders you choose. It doesn't read the contents of your files.

Downloads

For “While a file is downloading”, Wakebird looks at unfinished browser downloads in your Downloads folder to see if they are still growing.

Purchases

The Pro trial and purchase are handled by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details.
